  • From what age can children participate in a VR Kids Party?

    From 7 years and older

  • How many children can participate in the party at the same time?

    We have 11 play areas. For kids parties we count 2 children per play area: 1 is active in VR, the other sits ready on the couch. This allows up to 22 children to participate, with 11 playing in VR at the same time and quick switching.

  • How long does a kids party last including games, explanation and switching?

    Usually between 90 and 120 minutes (so 1.5 to 2 hours). This provides enough time for explanations, playing, switching and spending time together.

  • Can the children switch games within the booking time?

    Yes, that is possible. Our hosts ensure smooth switching so the children can try multiple games.

  • Can parents and guests participate or watch?

    Absolutely. Parents can watch through screens connected to the VR headsets, or optionally participate.

  • Do all children get equal playtime?

    Yes, our hosts make sure every child gets equal VR time. We regularly switch between players so everyone gets a turn. While one child is playing, the other can take a short break to watch, laugh or cheer - making it fun and varied for everyone.

  • Is there supervision during the VR Kids Party?

    Yes, there is always an experienced host present who guides the children step by step. The host explains the games, helps with putting on the VR headsets and ensures everything stays fun and safe during play.

  • What if a child finds it too exciting or prefers not to play in VR?

    No problem. Some children find VR a little exciting at first. We start calmly with simple and cheerful games. If someone does not want to play for a moment, they can simply watch on the screen or help cheer others on.

  • Can we bring food or treats for after playing?

    Yes, that is allowed! After playing you can have a drink with us and hand out your own treats. We also have snacks and drinks in the café itself, so you can end the party pleasantly with us.

  • Can you help with a gift moment or group photo?

    Yes, of course! After the session we are happy to take a group photo of the whole group, and we can schedule some time for giving gifts or a short break between games.

  • What is a good kids' party in bad weather?

    A VR kids' party at VRcafe Haarlem is fully indoors, so the party always goes ahead, whatever the weather. Children from age 7 play the best kid-friendly games under supervision, and parents watch live on the screen.

    VRcafe Haarlem is right next to Haarlem station, making it easy to reach for kids' parties from Heemstede, Bloemendaal, Zandvoort and Hoofddorp too, by train, bus or car (parking garage next door). The party is indoors, so a success in any weather.

  • What is VR Racing?

    VR Racing at VRcafe is the ultimate racing experience where you get the chance to step into the shoes of your favorite driver, whether that’s Max Verstappen or someone else.

  • Are there age restrictions?

    For VR Racing we recommend an age of 10 years. This is because the pedals are often too far away for children under 10. Additionally, VR Racing is often described as intense, which is why we do not recommend it for young children. If parents indicate that it is possible, children from 7 years old are also allowed to participate.

  • Can you race against others?

    You can play both solo and in multiplayer against each other. All VR headsets are connected to a screen so friends and family can watch who crosses the finish line first!

  • Can I gift VR Racing?

    Yes, it is possible to book VR Racing as a gift for someone else. You can purchase a gift card or directly make a booking for the person you want to give it to.

  • Can I get motion sickness from VR racing?

    Yes, it is possible to get motion sickness during VR racing, but this does not happen very often. Some players experience slight dizziness or nausea, especially at the beginning.     There are different car classes available, from fast formula cars to GT cars. The circuits range from short technical tracks to challenging GP circuits. This way, there is always a combination that suits your driving style.

  • How realistic does racing in the simulators at VRcafe feel?

    You sit in a real racing seat with a steering wheel, pedals and force feedback. The VR headset fully immerses you in the cockpit, making it feel like you are really racing. Every corner and vibration feels as if you are actually on the asphalt.

  • Can we also do a tournament or time trial competition?

    Yes! We can organize small tournaments or time trials where everyone drives multiple heats. The host keeps track of lap times and turns it into a fun, competitive racing experience - perfect for friends or colleagues.

  • Is there food and drinks during the VR activity?

    Yes, it’s possible to get food and drinks during the VR experience. There is a small snack bar with a selection of snacks and drinks.

  • What do I need to bring?

    You don’t need to bring anything. We provide all necessary equipment, such as VR headsets and computers.

  • Do you have arcades?

    Yes, besides VR we also have arcades so there's always an attraction to enjoy. We have two large arcade machines and one small one, plus an air hockey table. There's something for everyone, so between VR sessions or whenever you want to relax, you can make the most of these extra attractions.

  • Is there guidance available?

    Yes, there is always guidance available to ensure everything runs smoothly and to answer any questions.

  • Does VRcafe have air conditioning?

    Yes, VRcafe is fully air-conditioned. Even on hot summer days it stays pleasantly cool inside, so you can game in comfort without breaking a sweat. The perfect way to escape the heat.

  • Can I take photos or videos while playing?

    Yes, it’s possible to take photos during the VR experience.

  • Is there a dress code?

    There is no specific dress code, but we recommend wearing comfortable clothing so you can move freely during the VR experience.

  • Is there parking nearby?

    Right next to us is Interparking Station. Book your spot in advance via Interparking and use code VRCAFE15 for 15% discount. Garage entrance: bus side of the station. Alternative: Jansweg parking lot, about a 5-minute walk. By public transport, exit at Haarlem station; bus and train are right outside. Bikes can be parked at the station.

  • Are there toilets available?

    Yes, there are toilets available. In total, there are 2 toilets for guests.

  • Can I wear my glasses while playing?

    Yes, you can wear your glasses while playing. The VR headsets are designed to comfortably fit over most glasses.

  • Is it accessible for wheelchairs?

    Yes, the location is wheelchair accessible. Most VR experiences can be played seated, allowing full participation.

  • Do you get motion sickness from VR?

    Most people don’t. We use modern VR headsets with high image quality and smooth tracking. A small group may experience slight dizziness, especially in fast-paced games. You can always take a break or switch to calmer games - our hosts will help you.
