  • Friends Party

    • What is a VR Friends Party?

      Play multiple VR games with your friends in one outing: VR Lasergaming, fast party games in VR Experience, racing or (optionally) an escape room. The host gives the briefing, creates teams and quickly switches between games so everyone gets plenty of turns.

    • How many people can play at the same time?

      11 people can play at the same time on the play fields. In the racing corner, 4 people can race simultaneously. Larger groups rotate in rounds; the host keeps the pace going. Tip: combine Experience (11) and Racing (4) to keep 15 people active at the same time (groups up to 50 possible).

    • Can we play together or against each other?

      Yes, you can all play together in one team or split into two teams competing against each other. We adapt the games to your group and can switch between them during the session.

    • Which games are the most fun with friends?

      VR Lasergaming – fast, competitive, with a clear winner.

      Party mix in VR Experience – short, funny games with lots of variety.

      VR Racing (tournament) – heats with lap times/leaderboards (max 4 at the same time).

      VR Escape Room – teamwork under time pressure (less action, more puzzles).

    • Can we get a private room or private session?

      Yes, absolutely! Friend groups can book a private session so only your group is in the play area. You can mention this during booking or contact us in advance to discuss the options. Perfect for birthdays, reunions or exclusive outings with friends.

    • Can we combine activities?

      Yes, activities can be combined during a VR outing. For example, you can alternate VR Racing with VR Lasergaming and also choose from our wide collection of VR games. This adds variety and makes the outing suitable for all interests within the group.

    • Is a VR Escape Room suitable for a larger group?

      Please note: a VR Escape Room is one fixed scenario and usually supports a maximum of 2–6 players at the same time. With groups larger than 11, you will need to split into teams or book extra time; otherwise half of the group may have to wait.

    • Is VR fun for everyone, even if not everyone likes gaming?

      Yes, absolutely. Most groups are actually a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Our host helps choose games that are fun for everyone - from funny party games to competitive team challenges.

    • How long do you recommend booking for a group of friends?

      For groups of friends, we usually recommend 90 or 120 minutes. This gives enough time to try multiple games, switch teams and play without rushing. Especially for groups of 6 or more, extra time is ideal.

    • Can we add a tournament or competition element to our outing?

      Yes, definitely! We can keep scores, create teams and organize a small tournament. Think of a leaderboard with the best players in your group - perfect for some healthy competition.

    • What can you do with a group of friends in North Holland?

      At VRcafe Haarlem you have four activities under one roof: VR Experience with 65+ games, VR Laser Gaming, VR Escape Rooms and VR Racing. Centrally located in North Holland, next to Haarlem station, making it the easiest meeting point for friends from different cities.

    • What can you do with friends when it rains?

      Rain? At VRcafe Haarlem you play fully indoors. Choose from 65+ games with your friends, go laser gaming or racing, and stick around for a snack and a beer. One of the best bad-weather activities in and around Haarlem.

    • What is a fun outing for gamers?

      VRcafe Haarlem is a paradise for gamers: 65+ VR games in all genres, racing simulators with 60 circuits, and competitive modes to challenge your friends. The non-gamers in the group join in easily too, because the controls are simple and the host helps everyone get started.

    • What is an outing where you don't just sit and talk?

      With VR you stand up, move and play together, instead of yet another evening at the table. There's still plenty of room for socialising: between rounds you watch along on the screens and afterwards you wind down with snacks and drinks.

  • Booking

    • How do I book a VR Experience in Haarlem?

      Booking is easy via the Book button on our website. Choose your activity, select 60, 90 or 120 minutes, enter the number of players and pick a time slot. You’ll immediately see available times and receive a confirmation by email.

    • Which time slots are available and what time do you recommend?

      You can book daily within our opening hours. Available time slots are shown live in the booking system. Weekdays are usually quieter, ideal for smaller groups. Weekends and holidays are busier - book in advance. For groups or those wanting to try multiple games, we recommend 90 or 120 minutes.

    • How much does a booking cost and what is included?

      The price depends on duration (60/90/120 min) and timing (weekday/weekend). Included: short briefing, guidance from a host, use of VR headsets & controllers, hygiene covers, and the option to switch between multiple games. Not included (optional): food & drinks, private session, or some premium and escape titles with a small surcharge.

    • Can we come with more than 11 people?

      We have 11 play areas, so 11 people can play at the same time. If you come with more than 11, we rotate in rounds; the host manages teams and quick switches. Advice: 9–12 players → 90–120 min; 13+ → 120 min or two slots. Not every title supports 11 players; the host selects suitable games. For VR Racing: max 4 at once.

    • Can I change or cancel my booking?

      You can cancel or modify your booking via the website or by contacting us. Please note that cancellation fees may apply depending on how far in advance you cancel or change. You can also add cancellation insurance directly when booking.

    • How far in advance should I book to be sure of a spot?

      For small groups, a few days in advance is usually enough. For weekends, holidays or packages (such as kids parties or company outings), we recommend booking at least one week in advance.

    • Can I reserve by phone or email at VRcafe Haarlem?

      Yes, you can. Online booking is the fastest, but for questions or group reservations you can always call or email us. We’re happy to help with advice on times and activities.

    • Can I use a gift card or voucher when booking?

      Yes. Enter your gift card or voucher code during booking; the amount will be automatically deducted. Gift cards are also available via our website.

    • What happens after my booking at VRcafe Haarlem?

      After confirmation, you’ll receive an email with date, time, duration and number of players. On the day itself, just arrive on time - we’ll take care of the rest.

    • How and when do I pay for my booking at VRcafe Haarlem?

      You can pay online directly when booking via iDEAL, credit card or gift card. For group bookings or companies, payment on location or by invoice is also possible. Payment confirms your reservation so your time slot is secured.

    • Is there food and drinks during the VR activity?

      Yes, it’s possible to get food and drinks during the VR experience. There is a small snack bar with a selection of snacks and drinks.

    • What do I need to bring?

      You don’t need to bring anything. We provide all necessary equipment, such as VR headsets and computers.

    • Do you have arcades?

      Yes, besides VR we also have arcades so there's always an attraction to enjoy. We have two large arcade machines and one small one, plus an air hockey table. There's something for everyone, so between VR sessions or whenever you want to relax, you can make the most of these extra attractions.

    • Is there guidance available?

      Yes, there is always guidance available to ensure everything runs smoothly and to answer any questions.

    • Does VRcafe have air conditioning?

      Yes, VRcafe is fully air-conditioned. Even on hot summer days it stays pleasantly cool inside, so you can game in comfort without breaking a sweat. The perfect way to escape the heat.

    • Can I take photos or videos while playing?

      Yes, it’s possible to take photos during the VR experience.

    • Is there a dress code?

      There is no specific dress code, but we recommend wearing comfortable clothing so you can move freely during the VR experience.

    • Is there parking nearby?

      Right next to us is Interparking Station. Book your spot in advance via Interparking and use code VRCAFE15 for 15% discount. Garage entrance: bus side of the station. Alternative: Jansweg parking lot, about a 5-minute walk. By public transport, exit at Haarlem station; bus and train are right outside. Bikes can be parked at the station.

    • Are there toilets available?

      Yes, there are toilets available. In total, there are 2 toilets for guests.

    • Can I wear my glasses while playing?

      Yes, you can wear your glasses while playing. The VR headsets are designed to comfortably fit over most glasses.

    • Is it accessible for wheelchairs?

      Yes, the location is wheelchair accessible. Most VR experiences can be played seated, allowing full participation.

    • Do you get motion sickness from VR?

      Most people don’t. We use modern VR headsets with high image quality and smooth tracking. A small group may experience slight dizziness, especially in fast-paced games. You can always take a break or switch to calmer games - our hosts will help you.
