A VR experience is a free-play VR session where you can enjoy multiple games within your booked time slot. Our host helps you choose and quickly switch between games.
On our website you can find a page with all our games, including categories. Curious about everything available? Click here to explore them.
You can play with up to 11 people at the same time (we have 11 play areas). Coming with a larger group? We rotate players so everyone gets a turn. (For VR Racing: max 4 at once.)
You choose your time slot when booking (e.g. 60 or 90 minutes). Within that time, it’s all yours: after a short briefing (±5 minutes), you play for the rest of the session. Switching between games usually takes 1–2 minutes. Want more time? If availability allows, you can extend your session on-site.
Playing together: In many games this is possible (co-op or versus). We set you up in the same game; note that not every title supports 11 players.
Switching: Yes, within your time slot. The host handles this for you; switching usually takes about 1–2 minutes. Story/escape experiences are not switched halfway. Tip: choose 2–3 favorites in advance to make switching faster.
Yes, you can book a VR experience as a gift. You can purchase a gift card or directly book for the person you want to surprise.
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a short introduction and the host will help you choose your first game. After that, you can play freely within your booked time and switch games during the session. The host manages the flow so everyone gets plenty of playtime.
The VR Experience includes a mix of action, adventure, puzzle and party games. Think of archery, rhythm games, zombies, sports, or fun co-op experiences. There’s plenty of variety for both beginners and experienced players.
Yes, that’s exactly what it’s designed for. Everyone can choose games based on their own level and preferences - active or more relaxed. Our hosts ensure a good balance so everyone stays engaged.
No problem. The host will guide you during the session and help you choose suitable games. Based on your preferences - competition, cooperation, humor or adventure - the host creates a fun game flow for you.
VRcafe Haarlem is one of the best indoor activities in Haarlem when the weather is bad. You play entirely indoors, a 1-minute walk from Haarlem station, and choose from 45+ VR games. Perfect for a rainy afternoon with friends, family or colleagues, and you can grab food and drinks too.
A VR Experience is an original and active date idea in Haarlem. You play games together in virtual reality, from relaxed and funny to thrilling, so there is always something that suits you both. No gaming experience needed: our host explains everything. Afterwards, you can stroll straight into Haarlem's city centre for a drink.
Try something active: at VRcafe Haarlem, right next to the station, you step into another world for an hour. Laser gaming, racing, puzzling or just trying the craziest games - it's all under one roof. Perfect as a change of pace during a day out in Haarlem, and you don't need to bring anything.
A VR Experience can be booked from just 60 minutes, including instructions and guidance. Perfect for a short but intense activity in between, for example before dinner or during a day out in Haarlem. We're located on the Stationsplein, so you don't lose any time travelling.
The VR Experience is the ideal first introduction to VR: you start with a short briefing from our host, begin with an accessible game and build up to whatever you enjoy. The headsets are wireless and lightweight, and you can pause at any time. Most people get the hang of it within five minutes.
VR Lasergame at VRcafe Haarlem is a unique experience where you play in a massive virtual world filled with giant towers. You can jump and teleport between towers while fighting as part of team Fire or team Ice. Challenge your friends, family, or colleagues and find out if your team can win!
VR Lasergame is played in 2 teams of 2 to 4 players each, so you can play with up to 8 players in total!
VR Lasergame at VRcafe Haarlem is suitable for everyone from the age of 7.
VR Lasergame differs from regular laser tag because you wear a VR headset and play in a virtual world. This allows you to experience unique environments and special effects that are not possible in a physical arena, while the core gameplay remains the same.
After a short explanation from the host, everyone receives a VR headset and controller. Within a few minutes you learn how to shoot, reload, and teleport between towers. Then the game begins: two teams compete against each other in multiple rounds.
You don’t feel pain or vibration - it’s completely virtual. When you get hit, your vision briefly disappears and you instantly respawn in the arena. This keeps you actively playing the entire time.
Yes, the play areas are spacious and the VR headsets track your movement accurately. The host supervises the game and ensures everyone can move safely without collisions.
A typical session consists of multiple rounds of about 5 to 10 minutes each. Within your booked time (e.g. 60 or 90 minutes), you can play several games with short breaks in between.
Yes, that makes it even more fun! You can switch teams after each round or try new strategies. The host can also adjust the arena or game mode for more variety.
Absolutely. The controls are simple and everyone receives instructions before starting. Within a few minutes you’ll understand how it works. It’s all about teamwork, fun, and reaction - not gaming experience.
VR Laser Gaming at VRcafe Haarlem is an original alternative to paintball or laser tag: the same team battle and adrenaline, but without bruises, dirty clothes or an outdoor location. You play 100% indoors and wireless, so even in the rain, 1 minute from Haarlem station.
VR Laser Gaming is an active group outing in North Holland where you really move: you walk and dodge through the virtual arena. Perfect for groups of friends who want something different from bowling or the pub, and centrally located next to Haarlem station.

A VR Escape Room is an interactive game where you and your friends or family solve puzzles together to find your way out. This all takes place entirely in Virtual Reality.

Yes, in VR Escape Rooms you work together to solve puzzles and complete the experience.
A VR Escape Room session lasts about one hour, but it can be shorter or longer depending on how well the players perform.
The price depends on the duration of the session. On regular days you pay €37.50 for 60 minutes, €52.50 for 90 minutes and €65 for 120 minutes. During discount days you benefit from lower rates.
There are 6 different VR Escape Rooms available, each with its own theme. For example, you can explore the world of Alice in Wonderland or discover a jungle environment.
The VR Escape Rooms are divided into easy, medium and hard levels. This means there is a suitable experience for every skill level.
VR Escape Rooms are recommended from the age of 13 and up.
A VR escape room differs from a traditional escape room because everything takes place in a digital environment. Instead of physical rooms and puzzles, you use a VR headset and controllers to explore virtual worlds and solve unique challenges together.
If you don’t manage to escape, that’s not a problem. During the game you can receive hints to help you progress. It is often also possible to extend your session, so you can still complete the adventure.

The VR Escape Room at VRcafe Haarlem is a team outing in North Holland where collaboration and communication are key. VR Racing at VRcafe is the ultimate racing experience where you get the chance to step into the shoes of your favorite driver, whether that’s Max Verstappen or someone else.
For VR Racing we recommend an age of 10 years. This is because the pedals are often too far away for children under 10. Additionally, VR Racing is often described as intense, which is why we do not recommend it for young children. If parents indicate that it is possible, children from 7 years old are also allowed to participate.
You can play both solo and in multiplayer against each other. All VR headsets are connected to a screen so friends and family can watch who crosses the finish line first!
Yes, it is possible to book VR Racing as a gift for someone else. You can purchase a gift card or directly make a booking for the person you want to give it to.
Yes, it is possible to get motion sickness during VR racing, but this does not happen very often. Some players experience slight dizziness or nausea, especially at the beginning. Usually this disappears quickly after getting used to it and taking regular breaks.k to book VR Racing as a gift for someone else. You can purchase a gift card or directly make a booking for the person you want to give it to.
For VR Racing we recommend an age of 10 years. This is because the pedals are often too far away for children under 10. Additionally, VR Racing is often described as intense, which is why we do not recommend it for young children. Our host helps you set up the simulator and explains the basics: steering, braking, accelerating and shifting. After that, you choose a circuit and car, and you can go straight onto the track. The host can watch along and give tips while you race.
There are different car classes available, from fast formula cars to GT cars. The circuits range from short technical tracks to challenging GP circuits. This way, there is always a combination that suits your driving style.
You sit in a real racing seat with a steering wheel, pedals and force feedback. The VR headset fully immerses you in the cockpit, making it feel like you are really racing. Every corner and vibration feels as if you are actually on the asphalt.
Yes! We can organize small tournaments or time trials where everyone drives multiple heats. The host keeps track of lap times and turns it into a fun, competitive racing experience - perfect for friends or colleagues.

You choose from 60 famous, real circuits from around the world and more than 150 cars. From beginner-friendly tracks to circuits where the pros race: there's something for every level, and your host helps you get started.
VR Racing is a popular guys' outing in North Holland: racing each other on real circuits, with a leaderboard to determine who's fastest. Combine it with VR Laser Gaming and drinks for a complete evening, all under one roof in Haarlem.
A VR Racing session or gift card from VRcafe Haarlem is an original Father's Day gift for car enthusiasts. Racing on 60 real circuits in a simulator with steering wheel and pedals - an experience instead of a standard gift. Gift cards are available from just 5 euros.
Yes, among the more than 150 cars are formula race cars and other circuit monsters. This way you experience for yourself how fast such a car takes a corner, without any risk. Calmer cars are also available for those just starting out.
VR Art is a unique experience where you can create and explore art in a virtual environment. You can paint, draw and create using VR technology, bringing your artworks to life in ways that were previously impossible.
Time always flies in virtual reality. That’s why most of our sessions start from 60 minutes. However, we often find that 60 minutes can feel a bit short for many people. 90 minutes is usually more ideal. Especially children can stay engaged for a long time while playing in VR. For kids and birthday parties, we therefore recommend at least 90 minutes, but 120 minutes is also a great option. The choice is usually based more on budget than time.
Yes, you can definitely create art in VR. With creative apps like Tilt Brush VR you can paint in a three-dimensional space, while Kingspray Graffiti allows you to design realistic graffiti. This lets you experience art in a completely new and interactive way.
No, you don’t need any prior experience. The tools are intuitive and user-friendly, allowing both beginners and experienced artists to start creating immediately in a virtual environment.
Yes, it is possible to book VR Art as a gift for someone else. You can purchase a gift card or directly make a booking for the person you want to surprise.
We use creative VR programs such as Tilt Brush VR and Kingspray Graffiti. These allow you to freely draw, paint or create graffiti in a three-dimensional space. Our hosts will briefly explain how the tools work so you can get started quickly.
Yes, we can take a screenshot or short video of your artwork so you can keep or share it. Just let the host know at the end of your session.
Yes, absolutely. You can draw simultaneously on different play areas or take turns working on the same artwork. Many groups choose to create a shared theme or view each other's work on the big screen.
Yes, VR Art is popular among children and schools because it combines creativity with technology. It is suitable from around 7 years old and can be adjusted to the age and level of participants.
Anything your imagination allows: 3D paintings, graffiti, light sculptures or abstract forms. Because you work in a virtual space, you can literally walk around your artwork and build in layers - something that isn’t possible in the real world.
VR Art at VRcafe Haarlem: paint in 3D with Tilt Brush, spray graffiti in Kingspray or experience art together. A great workshop alternative for groups of friends, teams and families, without getting paint on your clothes.
Yes, Anne Frank House VR is a detailed virtual tour of the Secret Annex. Impressive and educational, and popular with schools and groups who cannot visit the real museum.
In Art Plunge you step inside works such as the Mona Lisa and Van Gogh's The Starry Night. You see details and depths you could never get this close to in a museum.
Yes, from age 7. Children usually love 3D painting and virtual graffiti spraying the most. For children's parties we recommend 90 minutes.
Yes, several experiences such as Kingspray Graffiti are multiplayer. You can create a mural together or take a look at each other's 3D artworks.
VR Paintball is a virtual version of paintball where you use a VR headset and controllers to compete in a digital arena against other players. It has the same tactical gameplay as paintball, and the maps are even based on official tournament paintball arenas
In VR Paintball you usually play in teams of 2 to 4 players per team (for example 4 vs 4). You can also play against bots so you can all stay together.
VR Paintball is usually suitable from around 12 years old.
The main difference is that everything takes place in VR: you wear a headset and see a digital arena. This allows for special environments, effects, and respawn mechanics that do not exist in physical paintball.
First you receive a short explanation from the host about the controls and safety rules, then you put on the headset and can start playing right away. The rounds are short so you can use the first round to get familiar with the controls.
When you are hit virtually, you are out for that round. You can watch the rest of your team and quickly join again in the next round. There is no pain and no mess with paint.
Yes, VR Paintball is safe if instructions are followed. The physical play area is spacious and many headsets have boundary warnings (guardian). A host supervises to prevent players from colliding with each other or objects.
A match in VR usually lasts about 5 minutes per round. Within a booked session, you can play multiple rounds quickly with short breaks in between.
Yes, switching teams and trying different tactics is often possible - the host can rearrange teams and activate different game modes for variety.
Absolutely. VR Paintball is accessible for beginners because the controls are simple and there is usually a short tutorial. It’s about teamwork and fun, not prior gaming experience.
